Embracing the Red

So something exciting happened this week, I took the plunge and died my hair red.

The Colour

I wanted to keep my hair natural on the top, so I decided to get balayage, so that my hair still looked natural. The red colour I went for is 246 copper blonde red.   It is super vibrant, but I love it. As I didn’t colour my roots this hairstyle is going to be super easy to maintain.

The Cut

A trim on the ends and some shape through the front with some layers. Super boring but super easy to maintain.

I got my haircut in Peter Mark, it was such a lovely experience and they really do what you want! Highly recommend them.

Burberry SS15 Make Up Look

Burberry SS15 Burberry SS15 2 Make Up

There is something really refreshing about Burberry SS15 make up look. It is not your typical Spring/Summer make up look as it has a dramatic red lip which we often associate with Autumn/Winter. I love this make up look and I think it would be really easy to achieve at home.

Prep the skin Prep this skin by using a illuminating primer such as the Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in golden Radience No.2. Then they added a layer of Burberry Glow BB Cream in Fair No.01 to bump up the glow and finally  Burberry Fresh Glow Foundation to even out the complexion.  To highlight they used Burberry Sheer Concealer in Soft Beige No.02 to the high points of the face.

Eyes The only product used on the eyes was a blusher; Burberry Light Glow in Earthy Blush No.07 which is a gorgeous natural pink/brown shade that blends effortlessly into the skin. This was just to create a natural sheer wash of colour on the lids. No mascara was used to keep this look fresh.

Lips  The real showstopper of this look was the Burberry Lip Cover in Ruby No.18. To me this is the perfect red.

Cara Delevingne Chanel Look

Cara Delevigne Chanel 1 cara delevigne chanel 2

Cara’s look for this Chanel ad is classic and simple. It is really easy to achieve at home!

For this look you need to have flawless skin, I used the L’Oreal True Match foundation as it covers my imperfections and adds a subtle glow. In the picture you can see some subtle definition in the cheekbones, I used Chanel Tan Universal to create this bronze look. As it is a cream formula it looks just like skin.

The eyes are what really caught me, a subtle line across the lid is all you need, no crazy flick to see here. The black line adds definition to your lashes without being too in your face.

For lips I thought it was best to leave them natural, I removed any excess foundation from my lips with a cotton bud and applied some lip balm.

Thats the look, complete.

What do you think about this look?

Fuchsia Eyes at Matthew Williamson SS15

Matthew Williamson SS15 Make Up

The makeup at Matthew Williamson show at London Fashion week was incredible. With a flawless face with bright fuchsia eyes, slick of mascara and a pop of pink on the cheeks. This make up look was beautiful but exciting and will definitely brighten up your dull winter’s day when were heading into spring next year. The make up look was created by Benefit Cosmetics.

The New Edgier Ombre

Katie Mara Hair Laurenaalice 2

This look is an easy way to lighten up dark hair without having to go through the painful process of continuously bleaching your lovely brown locks to achieve the beachy blonde vibe.  This hairstyle is a big trend this summer.

This ombre give you alot more colour tones instead of the strict dark colour, light colour.

Any length works

As we can see it looks good short and we all know ombre was made for dark hair.

Great for Waves

This is hairstyle looks at its best when the hair is wavy and has a bit of texture. If your hair is poker straight your going to see all the colour graduation which may not be too flattering.

Low Maintenance

The more washed out and root growth  the better I think!

If you want to give this a try bring a picture like the one above into the hairdresser and ask for a combination of foils and balayage hand painting.
