Bourjois Nude Ingenu (04) is a palette I wasn’t too sure of at the start, I didn’t know if the two brown shades would complement each other. But it is now one of my favourite palettes and its great for travelling as it is so small!

Texture

Super buttery! I think there a little bit of a dupe for the Chanel eye shadows, (made by the same company, feel the same, look the same – confidence I think not!)

Colour

The colour pay off isn’t very vibrant but I really love the middle shade. It is beautiful on the lid. Its a pinky brown which is something I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards but I actually think it really suits me. I wear the middle shade all over my lids on its own for day to day wear.

The shimmer-y highlight colour needs a few coats to give the best colour. Its a lovely inner corner highlight as it is not as chunky as MAC Nylon which is what I normally wear on my lids.

The deepest brown colour I used to just intensify the lighter brown shade on the edges. It is very easy to buff this colour away so be careful and apply it gradually.

My Thoughts

I think this palette is amazing for an everyday smokey eye. At night I would want a more intense colour although this could be achieved by wetting your brush to intensify the colour. The shades in this palette really complement my eye colour and skin tone. When I put the middle brown shade on first I was seriously impressed. It is now my go to eye shadow for everyday! This is extremely unusual as I normally like to wear matte shades during the day.

MAC Eyeshadow Collection

I have fallen in love with MAC recently and what really started it off was their eye shades. I just love how you can build a whole palette so that what I have decided to do. As you can see I don’t have that many but christmas is just around the corner, so I am hoping to pick up a few more shades.

Starting off in the at the top row on the left hand side.

Wedge
this shade is just a neutral cool tone brown that use all over the lid.

Cork
This is slightly warmer than wedge. I also use this all over the lid or just in the crease.

Swiss Chocolate
This is a gorgeous deep warm red-y brown colour. I use this to deepen my crease.

Sable
A beautiful brown shimmer colour.

Twinks
Like Sable but there is more red tones in it.

Next row starts with
Club
This is a duo-chrome shadow. that looks green or brown in some lights. I love this shade.

Contrast
A navy shimmer that look amazing blended in the crease. Beautiful!

Cranberry
Now this is a festive shaded you can amp up the impact with this shade or blended into the crease.

The Make Up Edit| Laura Mercier Metallic Gold Cream Eyeshadow

Here’s a look I wore recently out to dinner. As it wasn’t an overly fancy dinner and I always plan on being in a food coma afterwards. I wanted to keep things neutral as always, here on LA!

I started of with my base which is NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Sante Fe, (Is it too soon to call it love)

A look I saw loads on the catwalks for AW14 and in Allure magazine was smokey navy eyes. Here is how I created the look.
I filled in my eyes with black eyeliner as you can see in the bottom picture. To get the smoky navy shade I used MAC Contrast which is a gorgeous shimmery navy! As the black was underneath the navy really popped.

I think this look would great for any christmas parties you are going to do, instead of he usual golden brown smokey eye.
