Sanctuary 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask

Sanctuary Clay Mask

Once a week I try to really deep clean my skin, the best way to do this is with a clay mask as they penetrate deep into the layers of the skin and draw the impurities out.

This clay mask as a thermal component too which means that when you apply it to your skin it slowly heats up and then its cools down once it’s set. The thermal feature is definitely my favourite. It is like having a hot water bottle on your face.

Once I use this mask I can see a dramatic difference in my skin. It is glowing and feels nourished.

La Roche Posay Effaclar Mat

La Roche Posay has been a solid staple in my skincare routine, mainly because it is so simple.

My skincare motto is simple and no fuss and this fits in perfectly.

It does what a moisturiser is meant to do nothing more and nothing less.

The moisturiser is so soft and hydrating without leaving my skin oily. Effaclar Mat fits the bill perfectly. It minimizes pores and hydrates the skin.

It doesn’t interfere with your make up on top which is a huge bonus as some moisturisers I have found cause your make-up to cake in some areas and disappear in other areas.  I have found that this moisturisers help my make up to not budge so you could say it’s a foundation and primer in one!

Tips to Make your Skincare Last Longer

Use products to suit your skin type

There no point coughing up all that money when it doesn’t work for your skin. Your skin is never black and white. You could have dry skin but still be dehydrated. Foaming gels strip the skin so aren’t suitable for dry/dehydrated skin where as the are perhaps better for oily skin. Although I personally don’t like foam/gel cleanser. I think milk/cream/ balm cleanser are much better for the skin no matter what your skin type.

Apply the products in the right order

In the morning your skincare should look like this: cleanse, tone, eye cream (oils/serums create a barrier that eye cream can’t get through) , serum, facial oil, moisturiser, SPF.

In the evening it should look something like this: Cleanse to remove make up, cleanser to clean the skin, tone, eye cream, acne treatment if you have one, serum, oil, moisturiser.

Obviously not everyone will have all these product to do all the steps so just skip to the next one you do have.

Switch it Up

Most of us have a few skin product that we could swap for the ones we usually use. I always find that my skin looks better have I try new products. This doesn’t mean change it up everyday, but do try new serums if there lying around a little unloved.

Manicure Monday | Chanel May

I thought for today’s mani monday I would use a beautiful spring colour to help us through this depressing weather. If you are living in the UK and Ireland you know what I mean. I hope you’re all safe!

I know that the formula of Chanel nail polishes is crap but you can’t beat the feeling of wearing a chanel nail polish. I love this “true pink” colour called May.  Chanel Nail polishes retail for £18.

What’s your favourite Chanel nail polish colour?

Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser

I have repurchased this cleanser so many times, so I think it is about time I declare my undying love for this bottle of goodness.

Liz Earle strives itself on naturally active skincare. Everyone I have spoken to raves about the benefits of this product. In my expierence and in many other’s the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser has changed peoples skin form damaged , dry, oily, to normal! What’s not to love. This cleanser is gentle on my skin but it removes all  make up and dirt with the help of the muslin cloth which comes it.

The scent of this product may put some people off but I love it. The strong herb-y scent relaxes me in the evenings and wakes me up in the  mornings.

Two Toners | Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic & Caudalie Beauty Elixir

These two toners are very similar. They have the herby scent  and claim to have skin benefits.

I raved about the Liz Earle Instant skin tonic last week so check the previous post’s if you missed it.

The Caudalie Beauty Elixir, is pricey but it just refreshes your skin like no other. I even use this when I am stressed to calm me down.

The Liz Earle instant boost sin tonic is a cheaper similar version! But who doesn’t love to indulge in  good toner?
