The Skincare Power Duo by La Roche Posay

It’s taken me a while to find a really good moisturiser and cleanser that compliment each other. These products are both by La Roche Posay.

Effaclar Mat

I have spoken about the Effaclar Mat moisturiser on here before it is for anti-shine and anti enlarged pores which is something I need. The moisturiser is really smooth and hydrating which is something I really look for in a moisturiser.

Physiological Cleansing Milk

This is a new purchase for me. It is actually for very dry to dry sensitive skin but I have combination dehydrated skin and this works a treat on it. As it is a milk it is very gentle on the skin and removes all traces of make up. I use  one pump of the cleanser, I massage it all in and rinse it off with a warm muslin cloth.

What are your skincare power duo?

La Roche Posay Effaclar Mat

La Roche Posay has been a solid staple in my skincare routine, mainly because it is so simple.

My skincare motto is simple and no fuss and this fits in perfectly.

It does what a moisturiser is meant to do nothing more and nothing less.

The moisturiser is so soft and hydrating without leaving my skin oily. Effaclar Mat fits the bill perfectly. It minimizes pores and hydrates the skin.

It doesn’t interfere with your make up on top which is a huge bonus as some moisturisers I have found cause your make-up to cake in some areas and disappear in other areas.  I have found that this moisturisers help my make up to not budge so you could say it’s a foundation and primer in one!

How to get a Flawless Base | The Make Up Edit

Do you ever feel like your foundation just doesn’t look quite right? Is it too cakey, clinging to dry patches, enhancing those beautiful pores. If so I have some tips to help you.

You will need: a primer, foundation of choice and a concealer.

Let’s go: First of all I would start with applying your moisturiser, I do this so my skin is hydrated. Even if you have oily skin apply moisturiser. It might balance your skin out!

Next its time to even out our skin tone, Apply a foundation that is suited to your skins needs, preference and the correct shade. If you have oily skin use an oil-free foundation, if you have redness/scars you want to cover up wear a medium/high coverage foundation.  Remember that foundation wont conceal every imperfection nor should it. It is just there to even out the texture and colour of your skin.

Let’s  conceal create a V under the eyes with a highlighting concealer to brighten up under the eyes. Then use a full coverage concealer to hide any blemishes or flaws you may have.

Once this is done, you can finally set your make up with a translucent powder of your choice.

The Review| Vaseline Spray and Go

This moisturiser is going to change your life. A spray moisturiser that disperses just enough product to cover your body with an even layer of moisturising goodness.

Can you guess that I love this product! The reason why I love this moisturiser is that it is so easy and quick to use. Moisturising is not something I particularly enjoy doing but I do try to do it everyday no matter what and this really helps to speed up the process.

Apart from the fact it makes moisturising so quick and easy.It moisturising properties are also really really good. I usually pop m moisturiser on at night and the next day I still feel moisturised, not greasy which is always a good sign.

Have you tried the Spray and Go moisturiser. You can find it online here and in moist drugstores, boots, and Supermarkets.

The Review | La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+

Due to the amazing weather in the Uk and Ireland at the moment and the fact that I am going on Holiday in one week to america! I have gone a little sunscreen mad.

On my face, neck and chest 20 just isn’t going to cut it. I always find the the higher the factor the heavier the cream and when you are putting a heavy cream on your face in the heat, well it just uncomfortable to say the least. I alway try and find a really light cream and one that sits well with and without make up.

This is where La Roche Posay Anthelios XL comes in to it. This range is for skin intolerant skin. I am in no means intolerant to the sun, but due to the accutane I am very sensitive to the sun. But in all honesty I would recommend this range to anyone. A suntan is not worth skin cancer.

This SPF is extremely light, sinks in immediately and as an added bonus is water resistant. I can tell you for a fact that it is water resistant as I work in the sea everyday and I haven’t got burnt yet.

This is a really nice sun cream it is more like a moisturiser in consistency so no excuses ladies!

La Roche Posay can be found in most pharamcy’s, Boots or online

Be safe in the sun x

The Skincare Edit | Skin Problems Dry skin

I have extremely dry skin so ladies your in good hands with this skin problem.

My holy grail product for dry skin is without a doubt my Origins Overnight mask, which I love. I use it every night but on nights when my skin is super dry, I just put on a thicker layer.

In the morning my skin is usually quite hydrated thanks to Origins Overnight Mask so I have just been popping  on La Roche Posay Hydra-Phase moisturiser.

For any flakey bit you may have nothing beats Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream yes it’s a bit sticky but it works.
