Halo Smokey Eye using MAC Club

Today I was inspired by Samantha from Batalash Beauty. She did I look similar to this on her youtube channel and I thought I would do my take on it.

For my eyes I used my favourite transition colour Too Faced Peanut Butter, To deepen my crease I used MAC Swiss Chocolate. I blended until my arms hurt with a MAC 217 and a Blank Canvas E26 brush! My ride or die brushes!

In the centre of my lids I used MAC Club (how pretty is it!) with a wet Blank Canvas E24 brush. I pressed this colour into my lid and then i just gentle buffed out the edges using the same brush is wiggling motions at the edge!

To further deepen the outside corner I used Too Faced Truffle a gorgeous deep brown and then I went back in with the brush I used to buff out peanut butter to blend all the shades together. To really make the centre pop I added a bit more MAC club.

To finish off I smoked some Peanut butter onto the lower lash line and applied Benefit Roller Lash Mascara.

What do you think of this eye look?

Its still neutral and warm but I think the pop of green/brown in the centre is gorgeous! MAC Club is a duo chrome eyeshadow so in some lights is looks green and in other brown!

Purple Glitter Smokey Eye

MAC came out with a new formulation of eye shadows called Dazzleshadows last year. Most of them sold out within minutes but I managed to get Cant Stop Don’t Stop which is  gorgeous cranberry/purple colour.  When I first used these eyeshadows I wasn’t that impressed I was expecting some serious colour and glitter. The best way I have found to apply them is with a damp brush and then press them into the lid.

To create this eye look I used

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette shade Peanut Butter (my ride or die shade for all looks)

MAC Swiss Chocolate to deepen.

MAC DAZZLE SHADOW in Cant Stop Don’t Stop on the lid.

I used the Maybelline Gel liner to hide my lash band. Lashes were Ardell Demi Whispies!

What do you think of this look? Its a little different from my usual warm toned smokey eyes.

Recently MAC has come out with their pre made palettes. I was never really into them until I saw the Mini palettes such as the one above. This palette is 9 eyeshadows that fit into their regular four pan palette. This palette is so handy for travelling or putting in your make up bag for touch ups.

There are 4 different palettes to choose from I went for the Burgundy one. The shades in this palette are Honey Lust, Poppyseed, Quarry, Antiqued, Embark, #noir, Haux, Star Violet and Sketch. The price of this eye shadow palette is €40 and I bought mine of Brown Thomas . They were amazing it came within two days I would highly recommend them if you live in the Republic of Ireland.

One Minute Smokey Eye

  •

I wear some version of a smokey eye almost everyday. So when you are rushing in the morning you need something that is quick and will always look great!

First of all use the right tools, this will make your life so much easier. I use either a MAC 217 or Blank Canvas E25 for blending and a MAC 232 for packing on the colour. They are the only two brushes you need!

For eyeshadows I préfère warm toned browns but if you prefer cool tones go with that. I only use three colours for this smokey eye. Cork, Swiss Chocolate and Woodwinked all by MAC.

To start I apply Cork into my crease spend your time and really buff this in. Next I apply Swiss Chocolate to the outer third of my eye, still concentrating on my crease. Then I pack on Woodwinked with a flat shader brush all over my lid, don’t go into the crease. Final step is to buff is all in with your blending brush! Viola there is your one minute smokey eye.

The key to this look is a little colour and a lot of blending! Go on Try it and tag me in your pictures @laurenaalice or use the #laurenaalice

For the rest of my face I am wearing the usual; Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in shade 4, Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Warm Neutral, MAC Harmony to Contour, BareMinerals Mineral Veil to set my foundation.  For my Brows I am using Soap and Glory Archery pencil in Brownie Points and my lashes are all down to Benefit Roller Lash. Finally on my lips its MAC Pattisiere.

MAC Morange is the easiest orange lipstick to wear. Because it has a strong red undertone it makes it more wearable and it suits lots of skin tones.

Sunset Orange Eyes

Orange is not a colour we tend to wear on our eyes but it is actually very wearable and can really warm up our eyes. I used this Inglot eyeshadow in the shade 363 which is a gorgeous burnt orange colour. I attempted to do a cut crease and it didn’t turn out to badly. So here’s what I did;

On the eyes:

All over the lid I used MAC Blanc type: a neutral skin toned eyeshadow.

In the crease I used Inglot 363 (orange) on a MAC 217. I built up this colour until it was intense.

On the lower lash line I blended Inglot 363 to meet up with the crease.

For mascara I used Benefit Roller lash (my new favourite mascara)

What do you think  of the summer-y orange look?
