Relax at Glenlo Abbey, Galway

This post is rather picture heavy so sit back and browse through my amazing photos of Glenlo Abbey Hotel in Galway. IMG_4871 IMG_4872 IMG_4873 IMG_4874 IMG_4875 IMG_4876 IMG_4877  IMG_4912 IMG_4913 IMG_5014 IMG_4922 IMG_4923IMG_4926   IMG_4927

Glenlo Abbey hotel is situated in Galway city hidden away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Glenlo Abbey feels like a safe haven where you can relax and forget about everything.  Just look at the pictures above, it is so peaceful and those Orla Kiely bathroom supplies are to die for!

Lets go into a little more detail about the hotel itself.

It’s a five star hotel with a golf course or you can take a walk around the gorgeous grounds (my personal favourite). The lake is just at the bottom where you can go for a boat ride if you wish!

I have never met staff like them before. They are so nice honestly. They go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home.  The staff to me is what really made this hotel so pleasant and nice. Everyone was so friendly saying hello and chatting to you.

The bedroom I stayed in was fantastic. Can you see the size of that bed and let me tell you. It was probably the comfiest bed I have ever slept in. Where can I get one? The bathroom was another amazing factor. I took full advantage of the bath and shower while I stayed and I can say their showers are amazing! Washed my hair in no time and it was the perfect temperature! I didn’t want to get out.

Apart from the bedroom, there a lots of lovely relaxing rooms to sit in around the hotel. I love the couches by the open fire. There is just something so relaxing about fires.

Pullman’s Restaurant

I needed to be rolled out of this restaurant, I was so full in a good way! Take a look at the food. IMG_4937 IMG_4938  IMG_4941  IMG_4943

This meal was delicious! The dessert was amazing! I could have eaten so much of it. I highly recommend you book into the pullman restaurant. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. You walk into the original carriage from the Orient Express and it still has all the original furnishings. So amazing! I felt like I had gone back in time! Those people knew how to travel in style!  You make think that eating on a train is going to be cramped and stuffy but it is 100% not the case, I never once felt cramped or stuffed in this amazing train!

Wet and Wild ColorIcon Eyeshadow in Lagoon

IMG_4837IMG_4858 IMG_4857

I’ve been wearing a lot of colour on my lower lash line normally I opt for burgundy’s but this blue was so amazing! I had to try it on.  I have never tried Wet and Wild eyeshadow’s before actually I’ve never tried anything and I am seriously impressed. This eyeshadow is so pigmented that I only needed one sweep! Amazing!

I put this on my lower lash line with a fluffy angled brush.

How would you wear this eyeshadow?

Wet and Wild can be purchased in some Primark stores and Dunnes Stores in Ireland.

Bourjois Smokey Eyes 04 Nude Ingenu

IMG_4140 IMG_4142 IMG_4143 IMG_4172 IMG_4173 IMG_4169

Bourjois Nude Ingenu (04) is a palette I wasn’t too sure of at the start, I didn’t know if the two brown shades would complement each other. But it is now one of my favourite palettes and its great for travelling as it is so small!

Super buttery! I think there a little bit of a dupe for the Chanel eye shadows, (made by the same company, feel the same, look the same – confidence I think not!)

The colour pay off isn’t very vibrant but I really love the middle shade. It is beautiful on the lid. Its a pinky brown which is something I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards but I actually think it really suits me. I wear the middle shade all over my lids on its own for day to day wear.

The shimmer-y highlight colour needs a few coats to give the best colour. Its a lovely inner corner highlight as it is not as chunky as MAC Nylon which is what I normally wear on my lids.

The deepest brown colour I used to just intensify the lighter brown shade on the edges. It is very easy to buff this colour away so be careful and apply it gradually.

My Thoughts

I think this palette is amazing for an everyday smokey eye. At night I would want a more intense colour although this could be achieved by wetting your brush to intensify the colour. The shades in this palette really complement my eye colour and skin tone. When I put the middle brown shade on first I was seriously impressed. It is now my go to eye shadow for everyday! This is extremely unusual as I normally like to wear matte shades during the day.

There is a 15 trios for you to pick from so there’s bound to be one you love, you can purchase this palette online here.

Review Mondss Underarm Wear

Mondss 1 Mondss 2 Mondss 3 mondss 4Mondss 5

Mondss Underarm Wear* is a genius  idea by the founder Jane Mcternan. I don’t know how I lived without these. It is a truly amazing product that works extremely well.

What they do?

They stop perspiration marks from showing through your clothes.

Super easy, it like a plaster.  Peel the back off and face the larger end down and the smaller end towards  your arm.

How do they feel?

Invisible, I didn’t notice I was wearing them.

They are the best thing ever.  I tested these out doing normal day activities, a brisk walk through town where I really was sweating and in the gym. All I can say is these really work. I had no sweat marks on my clothes at all. Mondss Underarm wear didn’t budge either. It stayed in place all day.

The best way I found to remove these was in the shower or use a little baby oil around the edges.

Sephora Waterproof Eye Make Up Remover Review

Sephora Eye Make Up Remover

I wear waterproof mascara everyday, yes I know I am crazy but it is the only way my lashes hold a curl. So the hunt for the best eye make up remover started. I went to Boots and there offering just didn’t take off my mascara fully.  Sephora make up remover is a two part solution which you have to shake up so that the oil mixes in. I use this remover on a cotton pad and it gently dissolves my mascara and eye make up and just wipes it away.

The Good

  • removes all traces of mascara
  • doesn’t irritate the eyes
  • Don’t need to rub the eyes to remove it

  • It does leave an oily residue which I personally don’t mind as I wash my face fully afterwards.
  • There no Sephora in Ireland 🙁 but you can buy it online.

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil

Body Shop Oil

What The Body Shop says:

This silky-soft cleanser will effortlessly remove make-up from the whole face quickly and effectively, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and clear of impurities. It’s the ultimate time-saver.

  • removes makeup
  • suitable for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers
  • removes waterproof make up
  • leaves skin feeling clean and refreshed.

My thoughts:

It does remove my make up very well after two cleanses. I find the first one just removes the top layer and I then need a second one to fully remove my make up. As for waterproof mascara, I found it took most of it off but some mascara was still there.

Oil:  The oil does not affect sensitive, acne prone skin at all. It is extremely gentle. Don’t be afraid of oil cleansers.

The scent is extremely powerful.

How I use it:

I use it by pumping one pump into my hands and then massaging it into my face dry, once my face is covered in the oil. I then wash my hands  and use the water to turn the oil into a milky texture, to remove the cleanser I use a face towel as I find if I don’t use one and oily residue is left behind.
