Too Faced Blueberry Swirl

Today I was feeling a little more adventurous and decided to use the gorgeous blueberry swirl colour from the Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette.

The top of my eyes is the usual peanut butter and truffle combo with bon bon as my shimmery colour.

The bottom is where the drama happens with the gorgeous blueberry swirl colour which is buffed out with ingot 332 eye shadow.

What do you think of this look?

I filmed it so it will be up on my youtube by the end of the weekend. Make sure you are subscribed so you can see it.

A warm toned Smokey Eye

I just can’t stay away from neutral eyes. This time I used the Too Face Semi Sweet Chocolate Palette which finally landed in Ireland and I don’t think I have ever been more excited about getting this palette.

On my eyes I used Peanut Butter and Truffle in the outer third of my eye. I actually lined my eyes with Catrice Black Kohl pencil which is something I never normally do and Im not sure if I will do it again. I just can’t deal with the smudging! and for mascara no surprise that it is Benefits roller lash.

What to see more neutral smokey eyes, take a look at theses; one, two and and a surprise post from here.

One Minute Smokey Eye

  •

I wear some version of a smokey eye almost everyday. So when you are rushing in the morning you need something that is quick and will always look great!

First of all use the right tools, this will make your life so much easier. I use either a MAC 217 or Blank Canvas E25 for blending and a MAC 232 for packing on the colour. They are the only two brushes you need!

For eyeshadows I préfère warm toned browns but if you prefer cool tones go with that. I only use three colours for this smokey eye. Cork, Swiss Chocolate and Woodwinked all by MAC.

To start I apply Cork into my crease spend your time and really buff this in. Next I apply Swiss Chocolate to the outer third of my eye, still concentrating on my crease. Then I pack on Woodwinked with a flat shader brush all over my lid, don’t go into the crease. Final step is to buff is all in with your blending brush! Viola there is your one minute smokey eye.

The key to this look is a little colour and a lot of blending! Go on Try it and tag me in your pictures @laurenaalice or use the #laurenaalice

For the rest of my face I am wearing the usual; Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in shade 4, Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Warm Neutral, MAC Harmony to Contour, BareMinerals Mineral Veil to set my foundation.  For my Brows I am using Soap and Glory Archery pencil in Brownie Points and my lashes are all down to Benefit Roller Lash. Finally on my lips its MAC Pattisiere.

A New Venture into Inglot

Inglot was a brand that I was never really drawn to before, I didn’t know much about it and I was trying to fill up my MAC palette so always gravitated towards their eyeshadows and products, but after watching many tutorials with some Inglot products and walking past their store and seeing their make up artist make up. I knew I needed to pick some up.

These two products are actually all down to one lovely make up artist. here make up was fierce that day and I had to pick up what she was wearing!

I am planning on adding to my ingot eyeshadow collection so please recommend your shades in the comments or tweet me @laurenaalice.

The eyeshadow is a gorgeous burnt orange (number 363) now don’t be scared by the fact its orange! This goes on amazing and buff out to a gorgeous warm sunset on your eyes! Im obsessed with this through my crease and some gold glitter! Its the holidays you can be extravagant!

Another scary purchase is this teal eye liner! I know scary but this makes an amazing pop on your lower waterline once its blended out!

Inglot has really made me step out of my comfort zone and I can’t wait to try more products. Be brave and step out of your comfort zone you just might like it!

Here is a really easy one shadow smokey eye, that you are going to love and whats even better is that its from the drugstore!

The palette I have been using to create this eye look is Bourjois Smokey Eyes Palette in 04 Nude Ingenue I purchased mine from Boots. But you’ll find it at any Bourjois Counter in your area!

There is only one shade I use from this palette to create this eye look, its the gorgeous middle shade. It honestly make your eyes pop! It has a hint of shimmer that makes your eyes glisten and for me it is just the perfect brown eye shadow! Can you tell I love this shade! Sometimes for a bit of highlight I use the first colour and if Im honest I never use the last colour.

I honestly recommend getting this palette just so you can use that middle shade its amazing.

You can here me rave about the palette in an earlier blog post.

Top 3 Light Bases

DSC00400

I am not one to wear full coverage foundation bases everyday, I prefer something light and natural looking, My skin but better.

Here are my top 3 light bases that I reach for on a daily basis.

No.1 Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser in Natural Beige.

This is 100% my 10/10 foundation base. A little goes a long way for this base. I need less than a pea sized amount to cover my entire face. The finish of this base is dewy and the coverage is excellent for a tinted moisturiser. I blend this in with a brush but it also looks lovely applied with a sponge or your fingers.

No.2 Diorskin Nude BB Creme in 002

I consider BB creams to be like tinted moisturiser honestly who knows the difference between them really. This base is slightly matter than Laura Mercier. This BB cream has good coverage and feels very light on the skin.

No.3 MAC Cosmetics BB Cream in Medium Plus

This base is alot thicker in consistency than the others but it still feel light on the skin. It offers good coverage and has a dewy finish.

There’s my top three light bases. What are yours?
