Purple Glitter Smokey Eye

MAC came out with a new formulation of eye shadows called Dazzleshadows last year. Most of them sold out within minutes but I managed to get Cant Stop Don’t Stop which is  gorgeous cranberry/purple colour.  When I first used these eyeshadows I wasn’t that impressed I was expecting some serious colour and glitter. The best way I have found to apply them is with a damp brush and then press them into the lid.

To create this eye look I used

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette shade Peanut Butter (my ride or die shade for all looks)

MAC Swiss Chocolate to deepen.

MAC DAZZLE SHADOW in Cant Stop Don’t Stop on the lid.

I used the Maybelline Gel liner to hide my lash band. Lashes were Ardell Demi Whispies!

What do you think of this look? Its a little different from my usual warm toned smokey eyes.

Charlotte Tilbury is someone I could have only dreamed of meeting but this year thanks to blogging. She is the nicest sweetest person and has come incredible advice.

Her Dolce Vita palette is something I have been lusting over since it came out. So when it hit Brown Thomas, It was the one thing I was going to pick up.

Like I thought this palette is amazing! I am obsessed with the pressed gold pigment! and the deep brown/red is another winner in my eyes!

These eyeshadows are so pigment and buttery, and they blend seamlessly.

Whats your favourite Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Quad?

A Hint of Cranberry

DSC00700 DSC00703

I am just obsessed with make up tutorials at the moment, they really make me break out of my comfort zone and try something new! Who knew I’d purchase a teal eyeliner and love it that post is  coming soon! At the moment I feel like my blog is changing so expect less reviews and more tutorials!

Here’s a look at what make up I wore today, It was very minimal and unfortunately the camera doesn’t pick up my cranberry eye liner but trust me its there!

This is my go to look and it will only take you five minutes tops! A video is on its way so make sure your subscribed to my youtube channel to see it pop up in your subscriptions box!

Let’s begin with Base  I am trying out a new foundation at the moment it’s the L’Oreal Infallible 24H Stay Fresh Foundation I wear the shade 120 Vanilla. To me this is heavier than L’Oreal True Match but it still feels light and give a flawless finish. For Concealer I used the L’Oreal True Match Concealer in 2, its ok it conceals!  Now onto the contouring the only product I ever use for contouring is MAC Harmony! Its amazing at giving me cheekbones!

Next onto Eyes The most exciting part. I swept MAC Wedge all over the lid, Wedge is a cool toned brown colour and then on the outer third of my eye I buffed MAC Swiss Chocolate, its a gorgeous Red- Brown. Thats all I did on my eyelids. On my waterline I lined them with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in 619 Rust. Its more cranberry than rusty to me. I smudged the eyeliner out with a MAC 217 that I had used on my eyelid.  I then added lashing of L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara. The fact that this mascara is discontinued still makes me so upset!

On my Lips I’m wearing Maybelline Lipgloss in Cashmere Rose.

This is such an easy look if you recreate this look or want me to recreate a look tag me or use the #laurenaalice so I can find them.

Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

I am a huge fan of the naked basics palette. I wear it almost everyday. I love how their matte and warm toned so they really suit my complexion. When I heard Naked Basics 2 was coming out, I had to check it out.

Naked Basics 2 is more cool toned than the first one. My favourite shades are cover and primal. I think they would create a nice smokey eye. I prefer undone to crave as it is a little more daytime appropriate and I find black can be quite harsh.

Its hard to say which one I love more. I love the shades in each palette and I think you would use them all the time.

The great thing about these palettes is that they are so small and easy to carry around, making them your travelling best friend.

I would get Naked Basics One if you prefer warm tones and Naked Basics Two if you prefer cooler pinker tones.

Which one do you prefer?

A Perfect Base | MAC Soft Orche Paint Pot

MAC Soft Orche image

It has taken me a long time and many eye shadow bases to find the one that fits my long list of needs.

What is it?
MAC Soft Orche Paint Pot. A paint pot works as a cream base, that you can leave, put eye shadow on top or my preference eye liner.

What I like about it?
My eyeshadow and eyeliner doesn’t budge all day. As the this paint pot is matte and concealer like, it doesn’t interfere with any pigment in your eyeshadow creating a true to colour look.

My Favourite Use

As a base for my winged eyeliner. I have oily eyelids which during the day causes my eyeliner to smudge and lose pigment. With this as a base all over the lid, I don’t have this problem.

Where to find it

Any MAC Store or concessions or online here

Urban Decay Naked Palette

With all the hype around the Naked 3 palette, I thought I would go right back to the very first Urban Decay Naked Palette. This is the original palette and this is the one I love the most. The tones suit my hazel eyes really well as they are all warm toned.

The two colours I wear almost everyday is Naked (3rd Shade) all over the lid and Buck (5th  shade) in the crease.

For nights out I like to delve into the golden shimmer tones such as half baked(6th Shade) and Smog (7th Shade).

Will you be dusting off your naked palette and trying out your own combinations.
