One Minute Smokey Eye

I wear some version of a smokey eye almost everyday. So when you are rushing in the morning you need something that is quick and will always look great!

First of all use the right tools, this will make your life so much easier. I use either a MAC 217 or Blank Canvas E25 for blending and a MAC 232 for packing on the colour. They are the only two brushes you need!

For eyeshadows I préfère warm toned browns but if you prefer cool tones go with that. I only use three colours for this smokey eye. Cork, Swiss Chocolate and Woodwinked all by MAC.

To start I apply Cork into my crease spend your time and really buff this in. Next I apply Swiss Chocolate to the outer third of my eye, still concentrating on my crease. Then I pack on Woodwinked with a flat shader brush all over my lid, don’t go into the crease. Final step is to buff is all in with your blending brush! Viola there is your one minute smokey eye.

The key to this look is a little colour and a lot of blending! Go on Try it and tag me in your pictures @laurenaalice or use the #laurenaalice

For the rest of my face I am wearing the usual; Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in shade 4, Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Warm Neutral, MAC Harmony to Contour, BareMinerals Mineral Veil to set my foundation.  For my Brows I am using Soap and Glory Archery pencil in Brownie Points and my lashes are all down to Benefit Roller Lash. Finally on my lips its MAC Pattisiere.

MAC Eyeshadow Collection

I have fallen in love with MAC recently and what really started it off was their eye shades. I just love how you can build a whole palette so that what I have decided to do. As you can see I don’t have that many but christmas is just around the corner, so I am hoping to pick up a few more shades.

Starting off in the at the top row on the left hand side.

this shade is just a neutral cool tone brown that use all over the lid.

This is slightly warmer than wedge. I also use this all over the lid or just in the crease.

Swiss Chocolate
This is a gorgeous deep warm red-y brown colour. I use this to deepen my crease.

A beautiful brown shimmer colour.

Like Sable but there is more red tones in it.

Next row starts with
This is a duo-chrome shadow. that looks green or brown in some lights. I love this shade.

A navy shimmer that look amazing blended in the crease. Beautiful!

Now this is a festive shaded you can amp up the impact with this shade or blended into the crease.

The Make Up Edit| Everyday make up

My everyday make up routine is pretty simple. I am in college 9-5, yes it kills me so I like to keep my make up simple and quick because who doesn’t love an extra 10 minutes sleep.

For my base I alternate between Dior BB cream ,MAC Prep and Prime BB cream and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser. As you can see I am a lover of tinted moisturisers and BB creams. Thanks to the lovely Anna from Viviannadoesmakeup for all her recoomendations which then lead to purchases and my bank crying! After applying my TM or BB cream of choice I always use my Laura Mercier Pressed Mineral Powder to set it and add a bit of coverage. To define my chubby cheeks I use MAC Harmony as its easy to blend out and that is pretty much all I do for my base.

Onto Eyes, I usually sweep over MAC Cork which is a gorgeous yellow toned brown which just adds a little bit of definition and then I use my Shu Uemura Eye lash curlers and lots of Maybelline the Colossal Waterproof Mascara. For my eyebrows I use MAC Wedge to define them and that is pretty much all I do for my everyday make up. I always throw on a nude or a pink lipstick before I go out the door.

What do you use everyday in your Make up routine?
