Me and red lips is not something you will see very often. As much as I love them, I just feel really self conscious when I wear one and I just don’t think I can pull it off. But this year I have decided to be adventurous and not worry what people think.

When I wear a red lip I like to keep things simple for the rest of my makeup.

Thoughts on Brow Threading

Brows

Whats is it: A treatment where unwanted hairs are plucked out by using twisted thread.

Good:

  • cleaner finish
  • not painful
  • Lasts longer than plucking
  • Gentle on the skin compared to waxing
  • Inexpensive
  • A better shape is acheived

Bad

  • the sound I can’t describe it but I find it uncomfortable

September Make Up Bag

September MakeUp 1

Here’s a look at what’s been inside my make up bag for september. September was the month that I really upped the glow. I usually only wear highlighter in the evenings but with the cooler weather and my skin looking a little flat, I’ve started wearing my MAC Soft and Gentle MSF everyday.

The rest of my face is really simple and quick! For my base I am still obsessed with L’Oreal True Match in W3, sometimes I wear the Bobbi Brown Stick foundation in 2.5 when I want something a little heavier. For concealer my trust Maybelline Fit me concealer is still with me. I use the shade 15. For powder I am using MAC Mineralise┬áSkin finish in Medium to set my make up. I don’t think my contour will ever change, yep it’s still MAC Harmony blush.

For brows, I’ve dipping in and out of pencil V powder but powder has one this month I just love the natural look it leaves. I use a MAC 266 to apply it and Maybelline Brown Gel to set my brows in place.

For eyes, I’ve kept it really natural and just wearing a lot of mascara. On my top lashes I use L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof and for my bottom lashes I’ve been using L’Oreal Miss Manga Waterproof mascara.

What was your favourite make up item this month?

Brow Talk: Pencil V Shadow

Brows is something I am still perfecting and after trying brow pencil and shadows I have decided which one I prefer.

Brow Pencils ; I love brow pencils for their quickness and precision but I find them quite hard to use and sometimes they look very dramatic. The pencils I use for my brows are MAC Lingering brow pencil and Soap and Glory Brow Archery pencil in soft brunette.

Brow Shadows ; Shadows are something that take a little bit longer to apply but I prefer the result. I find they look the most natural and I get the best shape with a brow shadow. The brow shadow I use is MAC Mystery eyeshadow with a MAC 266 brush.

What do you prefer to use on your brows?

My Brow Routine

I struggle with my brows, There pretty straight across and very thin at the edges. Yes I over plucked my brows at the ends and it is slowly growing back. Note to self, Never over pluck! I did get my brows professionally shaped and I did love it. I wouldn’t recommend getting your brows waxed mainly because I had a bad experience when the skin below my eyebrow was ripped off. It is still healing 4 months on. So in my opinion I have never had a bad experience with threading. The sound is horrible but it doesn’t hurt. So I personally would choose threading over waxing.

So I have babbled on a bit so let get to the point. For everyday this is what I use to fill in my brows.  Sometimes I tweeze a few stray hairs but usually I don’t. Then I take an angled brush, I’m using one from hello kitty that is OK but not amazing I am going to invest in the MAC 263 in the next couple of weeks, and that will be what I use. I think Mac do the best shades to suit your eyebrows so I would go in and ask them to match you. I use Mystery which is a dark matte brown colour. Always get a matte colour no one likes shimmer in their eyebrow.

So that is what I use, what I do with my tools is very simple I fill in the natural shape of my brows ( where all my natural hairs are basically.) Then if I think they need more work I will define them a bit more. But usually for day time I leave them be.

I hope this helps some of you.

If you would like me to do a video on my brows, pop it below and I will do one as soon as I can.
