MAC Lady Danger

Me and red lips is not something you will see very often. As much as I love them, I just feel really self conscious when I wear one and I just don’t think I can pull it off. But this year I have decided to be adventurous and not worry what people think.

When I wear a red lip I like to keep things simple for the rest of my makeup.

Here is a really easy one shadow smokey eye, that you are going to love and whats even better is that its from the drugstore!

The palette I have been using to create this eye look is Bourjois Smokey Eyes Palette in 04 Nude Ingenue I purchased mine from Boots. But you’ll find it at any Bourjois Counter in your area!

There is only one shade I use from this palette to create this eye look, its the gorgeous middle shade. It honestly make your eyes pop! It has a hint of shimmer that makes your eyes glisten and for me it is just the perfect brown eye shadow! Can you tell I love this shade! Sometimes for a bit of highlight I use the first colour and if Im honest I never use the last colour.

I honestly recommend getting this palette just so you can use that middle shade its amazing.

You can here me rave about the palette in an earlier blog post.

Bourjois Nude Ingenu (04) is a palette I wasn’t too sure of at the start, I didn’t know if the two brown shades would complement each other. But it is now one of my favourite palettes and its great for travelling as it is so small!

Texture

Super buttery! I think there a little bit of a dupe for the Chanel eye shadows, (made by the same company, feel the same, look the same – confidence I think not!)

Colour

The colour pay off isn’t very vibrant but I really love the middle shade. It is beautiful on the lid. Its a pinky brown which is something I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards but I actually think it really suits me. I wear the middle shade all over my lids on its own for day to day wear.

The shimmer-y highlight colour needs a few coats to give the best colour. Its a lovely inner corner highlight as it is not as chunky as MAC Nylon which is what I normally wear on my lids.

The deepest brown colour I used to just intensify the lighter brown shade on the edges. It is very easy to buff this colour away so be careful and apply it gradually.

My Thoughts

I think this palette is amazing for an everyday smokey eye. At night I would want a more intense colour although this could be achieved by wetting your brush to intensify the colour. The shades in this palette really complement my eye colour and skin tone. When I put the middle brown shade on first I was seriously impressed. It is now my go to eye shadow for everyday! This is extremely unusual as I normally like to wear matte shades during the day.

Best Drugstore Palettes

IMG_4155

Palettes are something I love! Palettes combine all the best colours that complement each other.

I am horrified to say that I never normally gravitate towards drugstore palettes. I always go for high-end palettes such as Urban Decay and MAC but that changed after a little trip to Boots.

The palettes I picked up are L’Oreal Color Riche Les Ombres in E3 Infiniment Bronze, Bourjois Paris Smokey eyes in 04 nude ingenue and Sleeks I Divine palette inVintage Romance.

L’Oreal Infiniment Bronze

This is a gorgeous copper toned smokey eye palette. I absolutely love the copper shade.

The Make Up Edit | Winter Bronze

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Im not one to give up my bronze summer glow easily but in the winter it is alot harder to maintain. So this isn’t a full blown tanning post, this is more about how to bronze up your face naturally.

A drugstore bronzer that I love is Bourjois Paris Bronzing Powder also know as the chocolate bronzer. This is the best matte bronzer n the drug store in my opinion. It is not too orange so makes it great for a faux bronze.

Next let’s go to MAC Harmony this is more of a contour shade than a bronzer. I like to put this under my bronzer to define by cheeks.

My favourite and most expensive bronzer is the Chanel Bronze Universal. This doubles up as a counter and bronzer shade. This is the only cream product. I actually have ease in applying. This bronzer is also not too orange so it perfect for a natural bronze.

What bronzer’s do you use to fake your bronze?
