Halo Smokey Eye using MAC Club

Today I was inspired by Samantha from Batalash Beauty. She did I look similar to this on her youtube channel and I thought I would do my take on it.

For my eyes I used my favourite transition colour Too Faced Peanut Butter, To deepen my crease I used MAC Swiss Chocolate. I blended until my arms hurt with a MAC 217 and a Blank Canvas E26 brush! My ride or die brushes!

In the centre of my lids I used MAC Club (how pretty is it!) with a wet Blank Canvas E24 brush. I pressed this colour into my lid and then i just gentle buffed out the edges using the same brush is wiggling motions at the edge!

To further deepen the outside corner I used Too Faced Truffle a gorgeous deep brown and then I went back in with the brush I used to buff out peanut butter to blend all the shades together. To really make the centre pop I added a bit more MAC club.

To finish off I smoked some Peanut butter onto the lower lash line and applied Benefit Roller Lash Mascara.

What do you think of this eye look?

Its still neutral and warm but I think the pop of green/brown in the centre is gorgeous! MAC Club is a duo chrome eyeshadow so in some lights is looks green and in other brown!

A warm toned Smokey Eye

I just can’t stay away from neutral eyes. This time I used the Too Face Semi Sweet Chocolate Palette which finally landed in Ireland and I don’t think I have ever been more excited about getting this palette.

On my eyes I used Peanut Butter and Truffle in the outer third of my eye. I actually lined my eyes with Catrice Black Kohl pencil which is something I never normally do and Im not sure if I will do it again. I just can’t deal with the smudging! and for mascara no surprise that it is Benefits roller lash.

What to see more neutral smokey eyes, take a look at theses; one, two and and a surprise post from here.

One Minute Smokey Eye

  •

I wear some version of a smokey eye almost everyday. So when you are rushing in the morning you need something that is quick and will always look great!

First of all use the right tools, this will make your life so much easier. I use either a MAC 217 or Blank Canvas E25 for blending and a MAC 232 for packing on the colour. They are the only two brushes you need!

For eyeshadows I préfère warm toned browns but if you prefer cool tones go with that. I only use three colours for this smokey eye. Cork, Swiss Chocolate and Woodwinked all by MAC.

To start I apply Cork into my crease spend your time and really buff this in. Next I apply Swiss Chocolate to the outer third of my eye, still concentrating on my crease. Then I pack on Woodwinked with a flat shader brush all over my lid, don’t go into the crease. Final step is to buff is all in with your blending brush! Viola there is your one minute smokey eye.

The key to this look is a little colour and a lot of blending! Go on Try it and tag me in your pictures @laurenaalice or use the #laurenaalice

For the rest of my face I am wearing the usual; Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk in shade 4, Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Warm Neutral, MAC Harmony to Contour, BareMinerals Mineral Veil to set my foundation.  For my Brows I am using Soap and Glory Archery pencil in Brownie Points and my lashes are all down to Benefit Roller Lash. Finally on my lips its MAC Pattisiere.

Origins Drink Up Intensive

How have I lived without you? Is the only thing I can say about this product. I fell in love with it as soon as I tested it in the Harvey Nich’s Origins counter and parted £20 for it and trust me I would do it again.

The reason why I was drawn to this product after many raving reviews form @viviannamakeup Vivianna’s Blog (I’m too easily persuaded by other beauty bloggers) but apart from that the other reason I bought this product was because my skin was severely dehydrated  There is a difference between oily and dehydrated my skin is oily but it is over compensating for the fact it is dehydrated and I do get the occasional dry patch because of the acne treatments I use.

I have never used a face mask like this before and I kinda prefer it.  You put this on as the last step of your skincare routine in the evening like a moisturiser and by the morning your skin has literally ‘drunk it up’ and your skin  looks and feels amazing.

My skin is loving this product and it peachy scent. May be a bit overpowering if you do not like sweet smells. But honestly you need this product in your life.

Let me know if you like it too?

Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream

I am not really into eye creams. I personally like to keep my skincare rountine simple and effective. Also I haven’t found an eye cream I like and suit me.

This one is no exception, It is a thick white cream that I smoothered around my eyes. It took a while to sink in and in the morning my eyes felt so tight and I had very defined creases under my eyes. That never happens although there there, they are never visible.

If you want a thick, tightening eye cream this be the one for you but personally I just did like it.
Any other light eye cream suggestions? I would be happy to try.
