Into the West Blogger Network November 2014

Last weekend I attended the Into the West Blogger Network event in the Glenlo Hotel in Galway. ITWBN isn’t about selling you products to review, its about teaching bloggers how to enhance their blog and get the most out of it.

We had some amazing guest speakers to talk to us about a variety of topics. We had Phillip from quick fox marketing telling us all where were going wrong on twitter. The best quote was definitely don’t be an egg! Ann told us how to optimise our blog. This lady knows her stuff and if your interested she has set up her own training college called in-tutition learning where you can learn all about online businesses.

Helen Mannion  from lifes 2 good demonstrated their new product which I’m sure you’ve heard of micro nail. I can honestly say that it works. It buffs away the ridges of your nail leaving them smooth and unbelievably shiny!

There were a few pop up shops. My favourite was little pea juices. They taste amazing! I got a carrot, ginger and lemon juice and it was so yummy. Please move down to the south east!

For fashion we had the pleasure of browsing the rails from Pia Galway, Stella and Dot, Cotton Face Vintage and Sheneil Shoes.

Also at the event were two authors. They were both so lovely to meet and chat to. The Galway Player and Michelle Melville. You can find copies of their books in your local bookshop or online!

I met so many amazing bloggers at this event. There is too many to name but if you search #itwbn on twitter you’ll find them, so send them some love.

Id like to say thank you to the organisers Sinead from Yummy Mummy and Siabh from Siabh Egan Photography. It was an amazing event and I learnt so much.

Bourjois Smokey Eyes 04 Nude Ingenu

IMG_4140 IMG_4142 IMG_4143 IMG_4172 IMG_4173 IMG_4169

Bourjois Nude Ingenu (04) is a palette I wasn’t too sure of at the start, I didn’t know if the two brown shades would complement each other. But it is now one of my favourite palettes and its great for travelling as it is so small!

Super buttery! I think there a little bit of a dupe for the Chanel eye shadows, (made by the same company, feel the same, look the same – confidence I think not!)

The colour pay off isn’t very vibrant but I really love the middle shade. It is beautiful on the lid. Its a pinky brown which is something I wouldn’t normally gravitate towards but I actually think it really suits me. I wear the middle shade all over my lids on its own for day to day wear.

The shimmer-y highlight colour needs a few coats to give the best colour. Its a lovely inner corner highlight as it is not as chunky as MAC Nylon which is what I normally wear on my lids.

The deepest brown colour I used to just intensify the lighter brown shade on the edges. It is very easy to buff this colour away so be careful and apply it gradually.

My Thoughts

I think this palette is amazing for an everyday smokey eye. At night I would want a more intense colour although this could be achieved by wetting your brush to intensify the colour. The shades in this palette really complement my eye colour and skin tone. When I put the middle brown shade on first I was seriously impressed. It is now my go to eye shadow for everyday! This is extremely unusual as I normally like to wear matte shades during the day.

There is a 15 trios for you to pick from so there’s bound to be one you love, you can purchase this palette online here.

Review Mondss Underarm Wear

Mondss 1 Mondss 2 Mondss 3 mondss 4Mondss 5

Mondss Underarm Wear* is a genius  idea by the founder Jane Mcternan. I don’t know how I lived without these. It is a truly amazing product that works extremely well.

What they do?

They stop perspiration marks from showing through your clothes.

Super easy, it like a plaster.  Peel the back off and face the larger end down and the smaller end towards  your arm.

How do they feel?

Invisible, I didn’t notice I was wearing them.

They are the best thing ever.  I tested these out doing normal day activities, a brisk walk through town where I really was sweating and in the gym. All I can say is these really work. I had no sweat marks on my clothes at all. Mondss Underarm wear didn’t budge either. It stayed in place all day.

The best way I found to remove these was in the shower or use a little baby oil around the edges.

A Cakeful

Try to read this post without wanting some cake, I dare you! These cake come from the lovely Johnny Sutter’s Cafe in Scotland, I can’t remember the exact town but its on the way to the ferry at Cairnryan. honestly if you see it, stop by and have a cake.

The food is equally as tasty but the cakes are just off the scale.

I ordered the Lemon Meringue pie and my mum ordered the Banoffee Tart. They were so tasty. The have  tons of desserts to choose from such as chocolate fudge cake or mixed berry tarts.
